The County Judge/Executive is the chief executive of Harlan County. He is assigned the primary responsibility for the administration of county government. Harlan County has five magistrates (one for each magisterial district). |

Events for 2008 Harlan Festivals
|
World War I doughboy located in front of the Harlan County Courthouse. It was dedicated on Armistice Day in 1930 in memory of 30 soldiers who lost their lives in World War I. It is one of 136 in existence.
